Registration Connect
LiveStudent transportation registration, end to end
Runs student transportation from the parent's application through eligibility, stop, run, and seat — on live maps, with the assignment work automated.

The problem
Transportation registration runs on institutional memory. The eligibility rules live in someone’s head, the stop list lives in a spreadsheet, and the routes live in a filing cabinet. Every August the same questions come back at volume: is this address in our catchment, which stop is nearest, and is there a seat left on that run?
Answering one of those takes a few minutes. Answering four thousand of them takes the whole summer.
What Registration Connect does
Parents apply online and can check where their application stands without phoning the office — which removes most of the phone calls.
Staff work from live maps instead of printouts. Catchment boundaries, schools, stops, and runs are all on the same view, so eligibility is a question the system answers rather than a judgement someone makes twice and differently. Students can be assigned by hand, in bulk, or automatically against real road distances and seat capacity.
Because assignment runs on measured road distance rather than straight lines, the answer matches what the bus actually drives.
How it is built
Laravel 13, Livewire, and MySQL, with live mapping in the browser on the Esri ArcGIS platform. Road distances and route geometry come from Mapper, our own OSRM-based routing service, so distance is measured against a network we control rather than a metered third-party API. Parent and driver messaging goes out through Twilio, and stop arrivals can be detected from Geotab vehicle telemetry.
